Project Management in North East India
From 2010 to 2025, Gaurangi Maitra based in Tezpur University, Assam, has been part of four unique pioneering projects in the North Eastern Region. The first involved travelling widely across the North Eastern Region of India, to implement both the academia-healthcare initiatives across 21 departments in 11 Medical institutions, across Assam, Nagaland, Manipur and Tripura in collaboration with Tezpur University. It required using due diligence, empathy, perseverance, networking and strong communication skills to reach out to doctors, researchers, educators and young research personnel. The project in History of Science of the North Eastern Region of India, helped in reconstructing unwritten narratives of the region, which were then published in peer reviewed journals, with two books drafted and in completion mode. Under the UGC CARE programme, Tezpur University, was mandated to receive proposals from various universities from the eastern region for consideration of inclusion of journals in the CARE List of journals after due scrutiny, and analysis. The wide variety of journals received opened an entirely new world of bibliography, publications, publishers and academia.
